the Priority Services Register explained

The Priority Services Register is free. It gets you extra help from your energy network and water company in a cut.

You can join if anyone at home is older, disabled, unwell, pregnant, has young children, or relies on power for medical equipment.

what it gives you, and how to join

  1. Warning of planned cuts

You hear in advance when power or water will be switched off for work.

  2. Priority help in a cut

Updates and support come to you first, and sometimes a visit.

  3. Water brought to your door

If the taps stop, your water company delivers bottled water.

  4. A password for callers

So you know someone at the door or on the phone really is from the company.

  5. Information you can use

Bills and messages in large print, braille, audio or another language.

  6. How to join

Contact your energy supplier and your water company. Ask each to share it with your network operator.

  7. It can be for a short time

After an operation, or with a new baby. Tell them when it no longer applies.
